Summary

I've been a concept artist on a lot of popular video games such as World of Warcraft, Diablo 3, League of Legends, Hearthstone, and Overwatch. I have also drawn a lot of comic books. Presently I manage an Art House providing contract art services for industry leading video games. In my free time, I am developing my own universe called Twilight Monk and indie games such as Ikeda: The Scrap Hunter

    *Founded an atelier/art house, and managed a team of artists and programmers which supply timely next-gen game development assets for projects from multiple high profile developers throughout the world. Hired and managed senior level artists to meet each client’s specific feedback and standards for User Interface, Character and Environment/Culture kit Concept Art, Illustration, and 3d modeling. Guided art staff with paint overs, workshops, video tutorials and tool development. Efficiently scheduled, managed, and maintained steady and consistent work load to meet demanding deadlines and maintain good work relations with clientele. Created game pitches, scripts (dialogue), programmed example assets and game loops including basic AI, and design functionality in GML and Unity to pitch new IP’s for production.     *Hired on as an in house consultant and advisor to provide training and guidance for junior staff. Provided hundreds of high-end touchstone concept illustrations, and breakdown orthographic environment, and character designs for League of Legends focusing on the Summoners Rift map relaunch. Mentored Junior artists through workshops and hands on instruction. Defined lore that would contribute integral plot points and visual direction and development for the League of Legends universe. Contributed heavily to defining the User interface style, and workflow for several initiatives for players to customize their experience. Contributed heavily to several unannounced projects with character designs, stylistic exploration, and User Interface.

    *As the primary Concept Artist on two World of Warcraft expansions, and contributing Sr. concept artist on Diablo 3 - coordinated and instigated a pre-production and style guide pipeline for more effectively utilizing concept art in development at a time when Blizzard was rapidly expanding. Defined painted art style for in game assets, and cutscenes. Provided character and environment concept art and game design solutions with an emphasis on production design, gameplay functionality, and storytelling through visuals. Took initiative to problem solve project challenges in advance and provided creative solutions in design and art. Provided 3D assets and textures when necessary to keep production on schedule. Additionally created marketing materials, paintings and initiaded live drawing presentations for trade show demonstrations.

Provided concept art, promotional materials and environment illustrations according to design specifications for 3 major projects. Managed and created storyboards and animatics for over 3 hours of in game cutscene content in conjunction with the writing team for outsourced animation. Contributed heavily to the script, voice acting and overall cinematic presentation of all aspects of development.

Managed a small team of artists, assisting in providing assets throughout development of 3 Gameboy advance titles. Created game pitches, and documentation for potential new projects with various publishers to keep the studios project lineup ambitions and achievable to maintain successful growth of a startup.
